LFKK sits beneath Mont Aiguille with the Vercors plateau to the west and the Écrins peaks to the east. The runway's 7–10% slope gives it the effective landing performance of a 1,000m strip — and the approach, framed by alpine ridgelines, is an experience in itself.

Aircraft Parking
Tarmac parking is by reservation, for staying guests only. Quick turnarounds — under ten minutes — by visiting pilots may use the tarmac for brief stops. For longer turnarounds and unreserved parking, the grass area north of the airstrip may be used without reservation. Park brakes on, chocks on wheels (available in the hangar); note your arrival and departure in the hangar mailbox list.
